As a senior in college, Kelly came to Elizabeth City, NC, over spring break to interview with Clark Moore and Tuney Nunnelee. She was thrilled to get the job and arrived right after graduation to begin her career with the Coastal Beverage brand—first as a manager of information systems, then as an accounting manager working with suppliers, promotions, and HR. Currently, she runs admin for all CBC service centers and travels to each location every month.
Cross-training—going out on the trucks or working in the warehouse to learn those sides of the business—has provided Kelly with broader perspective on the various jobs at CBC. “I love working for a family-owned business,” Kelly says. “I know I’m not a number, and that is meaningful to me. And CBC brands—they are first class.”
The care of the CBC leadership has also benefitted Kelly in her 23 years of work experience with Coastal. “Clark Moore has mentored me and taught me so much about the business of CBC. He really took me under his wing, and I am so grateful. People like Clark, Tee, Tuney, and Brian always answer my calls and take the time to help me when I need it. It’s a great thing to know I have the support I need to do my job well.”
