Greg started at CBC in 2004 as a merchandiser in Pollocksville. Since he trained for his CDL and became a delivery driver, he has worked up the ranks as a delivery team leader, delivery supervisor, delivery manager, and now operations manager at CBC’s Elizabeth City location.
Before joining the Coastal Crew, Greg had worked at a retail store at Camp Lejeune, feeling like he was treading water and going nowhere. One day, a CBC salesman asked him if might like a new job. “My background was criminal justice. So, working in the beer industry was a big change for me, but I decided to give it a shot.” He started at the bottom and worked his way up, learning with each new role. “Working in the beer industry was thrilling to me. I felt like it was an ‘in’ job and loved everything about the fast-paced environment. Today, I still love the family atmosphere, and I feel like the company is always investing in me—spending the time to train me right and support my personal growth. At CBC, your concerns matter.”
Greg shares a meaningful story about one of his early jobs. “When I was new, I was still learning faces and names of everyone in the company. Late one night, I had to do a store reset, and the person who showed up to help me was Tee, a CBC executive. He helped me do the dirty work, which I thought was pretty cool. His willingness to be down in the trenches with me—that’s what it’s like to work at CBC. We’re all in it together.”
