Chris started at CBC in the Wilmington office and has been part of the Coastal Crew since 2001. He had heard they were hiring, growing, and expanding their territory, and he wanted to be a part of that—an exciting career with a well-respected brand in a fun industry. Chris started as a swing driver for off-premise sales and, over the course of four years, ran three delivery routes. He was promoted to a position as driver salesman for on-premise, then on-premise development manager, small format sales representative, and now, small format area manager.
When asked what keeps him at CBC, Chris said, “The people, plain and simple. I love the sense of competition we have as a crew when it comes to other distributors. I’ve always been involved in sports, so I love the race to be the best. But it’s a family—I’ve always felt at CBC like I can go to my supervisor and talk about things related to my job or just things that are going on in my life and always get good guidance. That is so important to me.”
CBC is about working as a team, Chris says. “I remember Harris Teeter went through a remodel and got a new beer cooler. The store called at 4:30 in the afternoon and wanted beer in it by the end of the day. We all just looked at each other, nodded our heads, and did it—finishing up by 8:30 that evening, proud of a job well done. We’re all in this together.”
