Between 1978-1988 Coastal Beverage Company wins the prestigious “Miller Masters Award” seven out of ten years. The award recognized the top 15 performing Miller Brewing Company distributors in the country.
Coastal Beverage Company, Inc. makes its first acquisition purchasing Field Distributing Company (Wilson, North Carolina).
Coastal Beverage Company, Inc. acquires Belcross Beverage Company (Elizabeth City, NC).
Coastal Beverage Company, Inc. acquires C.O Tankard Distributing Company (Washington, NC), Atkinson Distributing Company (Tarboro, NC), Allied Distributing Company (New Bern, NC), Dodd Distributing Company (Rocky Mount, NC), and Taylor Distributing Company (Goldsboro, NC).

Tuney Nunnelee started at Coastal Beverage in 1973, when it had just eight employees. Through the years, he has worked as a salesman, sales supervisor, sales manager, general manager, president, and is currently CEO and chairman of the board. Tuney has served on many boards over the years, including those of the North Carolina Beer and Wine Wholesalers Association, the National Beer Wholesalers Association, the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce Foundation, the Cape Fear Country Club, and the First Citizens Bank of Wilmington, NC. Tuney is a member of St. James Episcopal Church and has been married for 42 years to his beloved soul mate and best friend. He has two children and two beautiful grandchildren.
Tee Nunnelee has spent his entire career working for Coastal Beverage, a company founded by his grandfather in 1960. Beginning his career as an on-premise driver/salesman, Tee has worked his way through many roles across the four operations of Coastal and now serves the company as President. Born and raised in Wilmington, NC, Tee graduated from Woodberry Forest School in 1996 before earning a bachelor’s degree from Wofford College in 2000. Tee is equally committed to his community and to the state of North Carolina, currently serving on the boards of the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce, the NC Aquarium Society, and the North Carolina Beer and Wine Wholesalers Association.
Brian Rector began his career with Coastal Beverage Company as a college intern, eventually working his way to his current position as Chief Financial Officer. A master of Excel and all things technology, he maintains proven expertise in financial analysis, process improvement, and system optimization. Brian earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration, with dual concentrations in human resources and accounting, as well as an MBA from UNCW.
Brian loves to challenge himself—achieving a green belt certification and multiple trophies in various recreational sports. Married (and on the brink of fatherhood!) Brian spends his downtime cheering on the Tennessee Volunteers, researching the stock market, playing golf, and growing his beloved banana plants.
Tim Eldridge is a graduate of and former lacrosse player for Penn State and has been with Coastal Beverage Company for over seven years. He is the Vice President of Operations and is responsible for CBC’s warehouse, delivery, fleet, and safety. His expertise in Warehouse Operational Efficiency and Process Improvement stems from logistics and transportation management roles at Unilever, Sears, Home Depot, and Target Distribution. Tim loves cheering on his alma mater, playing golf, and travelling with his family to the Windy City of Chicago and down to sunny Florida.
Scott Southern is Vice President of Sales for Coastal Beverage Company. His expertise includes 27 years of prior experience with MillerCoors, holding multiple positions in sales and operations, as well as 8 years with Caffey Distributing in Charlotte, NC, as General Sales Manager. Scott is an avid football fan, with Panthers and Cowboys as his favorite NFL teams; for college football, it’s TCU and his alma mater, ECU. Miller Lite is his go-to beverage, and when the weather’s hot, Scott enjoys a good Leinenkugel Summer Shandy. His favorite craft beer is Foothills People Porter from his hometown of Winston-Salem, NC. Scott has been married for 36 years and loves being a grandpa and spending time with his family on any lake where you can relax, drop a line, or do some tubing.
Audrey joined the Coastal team in October of 2006 and is currently Coastal Beverage Company’s Vice President of Human Resources. She has built an impressive HR resume over the past twenty-one years, starting at South Carolina Federal Credit Union in Charleston, SC, and Interroll Corporation of Wilmington, NC. She is a leading authority in Organization Design and currently serves as a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). She loves spending time with her family and her sweet dog, Pixie. And if you ever need a great tennis partner, Audrey’s the one to call.
