HIS CBC JOURNEY:
Clarence has worked for CBC for over 12 years and most recently as a delivery driver. Coming to Coastal from a 28-year career with Coke, Clarence says he loves working with CBC because the Nunnelees have treated him well and his customers have become like family. His favorite experience is simply having a good time building friendships with his customers and joking around with them. He loves the family-oriented atmosphere at CBC—the camaraderie and enjoyment of each other’s company.
A DAY IN THE LIFE:
Clarence starts his typical day at 4:00 each morning, taking the ferry to Hatteras Island. “Every day is an adventure,” Clarence jokes, “because you never know if you’ll make it home on the ferry!” His product delivery route takes him to twenty different stops a day: Fishing shops, restaurants, stores, the marina, and even the hardware store all sell beer. And Clarence’s personal favorite (regularly stocked at home) is Coors Light.
HIS PHILOSOPHY ON LIFE:
What drives Clarence? “My philosophy is basic: Be calm and level-headed, and don’t get upset about things. It always works out,” he says. “The most important thing is getting along with my customers. People get busy in the summer time especially, and they get overworked—I keep them calm and make it my business to simply take good care of them.”
